Belkin Bluetooth Music Receiver Review

Summary

The Belkin Bluetooth Music Receiver is a great solution for getting your music off your iPod, cell phone, laptop or other device and onto your home stereo system.  The only caveat is that your device must be within about 10-15′ of your stereo for a reliable audio stream.  If you are within that distance, you will find the Belkin Bluetooth Music Receiver to be an easy, cheap and reliable way to play your digital audio on your home stereo.

  • RCA connection to your stereo

Assessment

The Belkin Bluetooth Music Receiver delivers on its promise to help you get your digital music off your laptop, iPod, cell phone or other device, and onto your home stereo.

It is very easy to set up and use.  Here is how it works:

  • Plug the Belkin into a power outlet near your stereo with the supplied power cable.
  • “Pair” your Belkin music receiver with whatever device you want to use as your source of music.
  • Plug the Belkin mini-to-RCA cable into an RCA input channel on your stereo.
  • Ensure your stereo is turned on and set to the appropriate input channel.
  • Turn on the music on your device.   Click on the Bluetooth option that comes up to send it to your Belkin music receiver.
  • Enjoy the music that is now coming out of your stereo speakers!

For most people, the sound quality will be fine.  Audiophiles may complain of sound degradation, however, this is not something that will be commonly noticed.

The Belkin Bluetooth Music Receiver works very nicely if your source of music is within 10-15′ of your stereo.  Under these conditions, it is a very effective and affordable solution.

If you expect your music (on your iPod, cell phone, laptop, etc) to be more than 10-15′ away from your stereo, then you can expect frequent audio drops.  Accordingly, this product would not be recommended under those circumstances.

Conclusion

The Belkin Bluetooth Music Receiver is a cheap and easy way to get music off your iPod, laptop, cell phone or other device and onto your existing stereo system.  Range is limited to about 10-15′, and if you are within that distance, you should find this product to work a charm.
